About the Lens football team

The French football club, Racing Club de Lens, is also known as RC Lens or RCL. This professional club was founded in 1906.

RC Lens, which belongs to a businessman called Hafiz Mammadov, is headquartered in the La Gaillette technical and sport centre. The club plays at Bollaert-Delelis stadium and its current Chairman is Gervais Martel. Antoine Kombouaré has been the coach of the professional team since 2013. RC Lens is best known for its Blood and Gold colours. Moreover, the club's logo features these colours as well as a castle, a miner's lamp, two fleur de lys, the year of the club's creation, the club's name and the RCL acronym. Emblematic players like Éric Sikora and Maryan Wisnieski have played for the club. In 1999, during a LENS Match at Stade de France, the Blood and Golds won the final of the League Cup. The previous year, the club had already won the French championship. Internationally, RCL has already won an Intertoto Cup in 2005, and was a semi-finalist in the UEFA Cup in 2000.
