System Of A Down (SOAD) is an American metal band from California, formed in 1994. Composed of Serj Tankian (vocals, keyboards), Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals), Shavo Odadjian (bass) and John Dolmayan (drums), SOAD has established itself as a key reference in the world of rock and alternative metal thanks to a unique style combining aggressive riffs, complex rhythms and powerful political messages.
The band rose to fame with the release of their second album, Toxicity, in 2001. This iconic record, featuring tracks such as Chop Suey!, propelled the band onto the world stage and left its mark on an entire generation of fans. Toxicity is still considered one of the best metal albums of the 21st century.
